REMOVAL OF BOARD MEMBER

References:     Wyoming Statute: §21-18-303(xii)

Any board member may be removed if he/she moves out of his/her district without resigning, or for cause.

With respect to removal for cause, a trustee will be removed upon a vote of a 75% of the trustees present at any meeting at which a quorum of at least 80 percent of the trustees is present.  The trustee subject to potential removal may not vote, and is not counted as a trustee for purposes of determining quorum.  By way of example, for a 7-person board, 5 members or more (not counting the subject trustee) would constitute quorum, and a 67% of those trustees present (not counting the subject trustee) would need to vote for removal for it to be effective (e.g., at least 4 out of 5, or 5 out of 6).

In the case of an elected Trustee, who serves on the College Board by position under statutory law, the decision of the Board shall be communicated to the Sweetwater County Clerk in which that Trustee serves to determine the appropriate steps necessary to fill the open Trustee position.  A formal letter shall be sent to the Trustee notifying them of his/her removal from the Board.
