Online learning is flexible, convenient, and accessible wherever you have a reliable Internet connection. There is no need to spend time and money commuting or relocating.

Online Learning Support
7 days a week, with the exception of Christmas break, students and faculty can call or email Western’s Canvas help between 8am and 9pm to receive help with the following:
- All things Canvas
- Login issues
- Instructional Technology tools integrated into Canvas
- 3rd party vendors- Publisher content
MyWestern username and passwords
24/7, 365 days a year, students and faculty can call or chat with Canvas and receive assistance with the learning management system. (We pay for this service).
I will be reaching out to all library directors in our service area this week (1.21.20) to offer access to a public Canvas course, personalized training and printed material for reference. We are also designing posters with basic login and functionality information for the libraries to hang on their boards and put by their computers.
Western online students have two options for tutoring services.
- Western’s Peer Tutor Center has tutors in all areas of study and will make Zoom appointments with our distance students.
- Western also subscribes to NetTutor, which offers tutoring 24/7, 365 days a year
Western’s Wellbeing and Accessibility office provides counseling services for our online students who cannot come to campus.
Western’s online students have access to all online library databases. Upon request, online students can have books mailed to them from the on-campus library.
Western’s bookstore has a robust online system that allows students to easily purchase or rent textbooks.
Western academic Advisors offer Zoom or telephone appointments for online students.
Students are able to use Western’s Zoom account to host virtual study groups.
