Jeff worked in the construction industry for a time before attending school and completing a degree in Welding Technology. He worked in maintenance while teaching for a couple of years before being employed full time by Western’s Welding Dept. He has been teaching now for approximately 32 years, and currently holds an inspector’s certification, as well as an educator’s certification from the American Welding Society.

After receiving my A.A.S. in welding shop fabrication in 2012 from Western Wyoming Community College I started working for Tri-State Mine Service Inc. as a welder fabricator. In 2015 I took the position as a welding instructor for Western Wyoming Community College. In 2016 I received welding inspector’s certification from American Welding Society. Currently My wife and I reside in Rock Springs, Wyoming, where we raise our daughter and enjoy our outdoor activities of hunting, fishing and camping.

I started welding directly out of high school in 1978. Back then you didn't need a degree to get a good paying job (very different now!). I worked other jobs at times, but always came back to welding. From my rig truck to fab shops, welding has given me a good life, and a rewarding career. I started instructing at Western in 2015 and found a new path to follow in my field. With 41 years’ experience in practical application, and a year and a half as a CWI, I have found a way to pass on the knowledge I have acquired to students with the same passion for welding and inspection.
