Practicum

The Practicum classes allow the students to explore different career paths by shadowing various professionals of their choice within the community. Students are encouraged to have practicum in their schedule each semester throughout the program. Certain degrees that students transfer to required hours within the field and these practicum hours contribute toward these required hours giving our students an advantage when they transfer. Through these experiences, students usually solidify their career path of interest. In addition to the time spent in the community, the exercise science students work together to execute a number of fun and exciting community programming and events.

Some of these community programs include:

  • Wellness Challenge
  • Fire-Fighter Fitness Testing
  • 9/11 Memorial
  • Run with Sandy
  • Health Fairs
  • Teaching High School Exercise Physiology labs
  • Fitness and Nutrition education for Elementary Schools and Boys and Girls Club
