Graduates of the Automotive Technology programs will be able to:

  • Diagnose and Repair Automotive Systems
    Accurately identify and troubleshoot problems in engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, and computerized vehicle systems.
  • Apply Industry-Standard Procedures
    Perform maintenance and repairs in accordance with ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) standards, manufacturer specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Utilize Modern Diagnostic Equipment
    Operate advanced tools and diagnostic technologies used in today’s automotive industry, including scan tools, oscilloscopes, and emissions analyzers.
  • Demonstrate Technical Proficiency and Workmanship
    Apply precision and attention to detail in all aspects of mechanical work, from disassembly to reassembly, ensuring vehicle systems function to factory specifications.
  • Communicate Effectively in a Professional Environment
    Clearly explain technical issues and repair procedures to colleagues, service advisors, and customers using proper terminology and documentation practices.
  • Prepare for ASE Certification and Employment
    Be academically and practically prepared to take ASE certification exams and enter the workforce as entry-level automotive technicians or related roles.
