Western prepares the nursing student to enter the profession as a competent beginning registered nurse. Western has an integrated, concept-based curriculum which guides the student in building critical thinking skills. This hybrid program offers face-to-face and distance delivery options for the classroom portion of the curriculum. Multiple learning environments are utilized for the lab and clinical portions of the program on the main campus and throughout Western’s vast service area. Students are required to travel for lab, clinical, and simulation experiences.
Western’s Nursing Program first time pass rates on the national licensing exam are consistently above both the state and national averages. Satisfaction among graduates and employers is superior.
