Featured Third Party Tools

All you need to do is set the exam guidelines. Honorlock will do the rest! And, because the Honorlock platform integrates with Canvas, it's easy to log in and get started. 

How: Honorlock is already integrated with Canvas, so you simply need to enable this tool under your Course Navigation.

All tutors hold, at minimum, a bachelor's degree in their area of study. NetTutor offers a large number of subjects available for tutoring, ranging from introductory to graduate-level courses.

  • Tutors are available to students 24 hours a day, every day of the year for all levels of math and English. Other subject areas have extensive tutoring coverage.
  • Students can upload papers asynchronously to be reviewed, and tutors can make comments directly on the document. 
  • The NetTutor Q&A Center allows students to submit questions at any time and return to retrieve the answers later when they have time to focus. 

How: NetTutor is already integrated with Canvas, so you simply need to enable this tool under your Course Navigation.

Guides and Resources:

What: Turnitin is used to deter plagiarism. When students submit their assignment through Turnitin, this tool looks for similarity by comparing student's work against internet content, work previously submitted to Turnitin, and a repository of periodicals, journals, and publications. 

How: Turnitin is already integrated with Canvas. You can setup your Canvas assignment to review similarity, and use Turnitin's Feedback Studio to grade your student's work. Or, you can simply setup your assignment to check for similarity while using the Canvas SpeedGrader. 

Guides and Resources:

What: Use Zoom to video conference with your students! Schedule Q&A's to help your students along, or hold synchronous class time online. Zoom is also perfect for one-on-one meetings with students and advisees!

How: Zoom is already integrated with Canvas, so you simply need to enable this tool under your Course Navigation. Meetings that are private, or not related to class, should be setup outside of Canvas through the MyWestern Portal.
