Testimonials

During my time here at Western Wyoming Community College, most of my classes have been taken online. I have quite enjoyed the flexibility that online classes have given me while I go to school and work full-time in addition to raising my daughter, but I have especially enjoyed a few of my classes such as human resources and marketing as these classes have given me extra flexibility by being open content courses. I admire the way that these courses are set up the most since they still have structure in what should be being completed each week and having set deadlines, but instead of having to wait each week for the next assignments to open everything for the semester is unlocked. This has been so helpful in being able to have more control in planning out when I can complete assignments and knowing exactly what needs done so there are no curve balls for a certain week that I may not have been planning for. Working ahead in these types of classes also had decreased my stress levels knowing I was more prepared if something unexpected were to come up. I have absolutely loved taking open content courses and sincerely wish more of my classes had been set up in this style.

I am writing today to express my support for the open class forum, along with the blocked courses.  I have enjoyed and appreciated the flexibility that the open courses lend to. It has been accommodating to me because I know when I will have extra time on my hands to be able to work and the ability to finish the class early, or even just the flexibility it allows.  I feel that more and more people could benefit from this setting whether they are a traditional student new to college, a non-traditional student with a family, or an individual looking for flexibility in their schedule in order to obtain more education, certificates and knowledge helping them to further their career.
