If you can't pick up your package during the time that Shipping and Receiving is open, call 382-1683. If we are shorthanded and backup isn't available, then we may be closed during the hours listed on the schedule below. We will try to send out an e-mail when we are shorthanded so that adjustments can be made to your schedules.

Guidelines


INCOMING MAIL

The address to use for the Faculty, Staff and Students mail and packages is listed above. Please make sure that anyone who sends you mail or packages includes your department name or your name and on campus mailbox number (example: John Doe #714).


INCOMING PACKAGES

Packages are will be available for pick-up in Shipping, Room 1553, once they have been processed in by shipping personnel. They will send you an e-mail letting you know you have a package and it will include the shipping and receiving hours. For security reasons, students will need to bring a photo ID when picking up their packages.


ON-CAMPUS MAIL

To ensure prompt delivery of mail, please include the name and mailbox number on the outside of each item.


OUTGOING OFF CAMPUS MAIL FROM WWCC OFFICES

Make sure that:
  • Your name or department and box number are listed in the return address
  • Envelopes with stamps on them are sealed and have a return address
  • All large envelopes (9 X 10 or bigger) are sealed
  • Envelopes with "no postage due" insignia printed on them are sealed
  • On campus mail is separate from the off campus mail so that it isn't being processed and mailed back to us. (Main campus address: 2500 College Drive; Residence Halls: 2600 College Drive)
  • Foreign/international mail is separated from domestic mail (items mailed within the US)


MAIL GOING TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES

Business mail such as mail / packages from WWCC can be put directly with the outgoing mail.

Personal mail/packages over 16 oz need to have a special sticker added to them. However, please be aware that the post office doesn't always see that and when that happens these items end up being returned to the sender so it might be better if you bring it directly to the post office.

Note: Items that are over 16 oz require a customs form. (Declare what is enclosed and the value of it.) The form can be picked up in the mailroom or shipping.


OUTGOING PACKAGES FROM WWCC OFFICES

NOTE: if placed in the drop box in the morning and mailroom/shipping staff doesn't have them before 2:00 p.m. when the mailroom opens, packages will not go out until the next business day.

  • FedEx: FedEx express items need to be brought directly to shipping by 1:00 p.m. so that they can be called in for pick up before the deadline for them to go out the day that you/your office process them.
  • US Post office (USPS): If you need mail processed and the mailroom is closed, please bring it to shipping and receiving (Shipping is open 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. and reopens at 3 p.m.). The driver randomly arrives between 3:05 and 4:15, so the sooner you have outgoing mail to us the better. If you need something sent out and the post office has already picked up, our office can add the postage however, someone from your office will need to take it to the post office.
  • The UPS driver picks up between 3:00 and 4:30 p.m. and items received after that will go out the next business day. Call tag packages need to be brought to shipping so that are available when the driver arrives with the paperwork for it.


IMPORTANT NOTES and OUTGOING PERSONAL MAIL FROM FACULTY, STAFF, AND STUDENTS

2:30 pm is the last mail drop box pick from the mailroom each business day. Items drop into the drop box after the mailroom is closed it will not be processed until the next business day.

The post office requires that Registered and Express mail items be brought directly to a clerk at the USPS. Someone from your office will need to bring these types of items to the post office since they CANNOT be put into the outgoing daily mail that their driver picks up.

Mailroom and shipping personnel can weigh outgoing mail and packages, however, you will need to purchase stamps from the bookstore to mail them out. If the item is being mailed to a foreign country and it is over 16 oz/1 pound it requires a customs form to be added to it. (The forms can be picked up in the mailroom or shipping.)

The post office requires that items over 16 oz be given directly to a mail clerk at the US post office. WWCC mailroom and shipping department has been authorized to add a no date postage sticker to it; however, please be aware that even with this being done that there are times that the post office doesn't accept the package and will return it to you. So you might want to take it directly to the local U.S. post office to be processed.
