Western Wyoming Community College is ranked third out of 851 community colleges in the nation on Niche’s 2018 Best Community Colleges in America list.
Schools are rated on their professors, diversity, student life, value, safety and location. According to Niche, the average cost of attending Western for out of state students is around $7,399 per year after receiving grant or scholarship aid, half of the national average of $15,523. Niche surveyed students and alumni of Western Wyoming Community College and stated that 89% of students agree that professors put a lot of effort into teaching their classes, 80% of students agree that the workload is easy to manage, and 76% agree that it is easy to get the classes they want.
Western has a student faculty ratio of 12:1, provides evening degree programs for non-traditional students, provides day care services, and 85% of students are employed two years after graduation – higher than the national average of 83%.

Niche pulls data from sources like the Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System (IPEDS) from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) to gain information about majors, enrollment and tuition; from the Office of Post-Secondary Education (OPE) from the US Department of Education for data on athletics, campus crime and loan default information; The Center for Measuring University Performance to gain insight and data on faculty and student awards; the Brookings Institute for data on value-added for attending a particular college; the National Science Foundation for data on college expenditures by department; and through their own Niche College Student Survey which is administered to millions of current students and recent alumni on Niche.com.
