Dianna Renz was nominated as the WACCT Professional of the Year!
“The Wyoming Association of Community College Trustees (WACCT) is part of the American Community College Trustee (ACCT) network – a non-profit educational organization of governing boards, representing more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees who govern over 1,200 community, technical, and junior colleges in the United States and beyond. Here in Wyoming, WACCT educates community leaders, policymakers, and technical college trustees through annual conferences focused on leadership development and advocacy, as well as through publications and online and face-to-face institutes and seminars.” – WACCT website homepage.
Dianna Renz has been at Western for the past 12 years. She began as an adjunct English instructor, was recruited for administrative projects, eventually becoming Faculty Resources Facilitator and Assessment Coordinator, and finally Director of Planning and Improvement, where she has been since 2014.
As Director of Planning and Improvement, she works hard to better areas like program-level assessment, use of data, student learning and assessment, strategic planning, and project management. These are constantly changing and developing sectors of our institution, and she’s consistently tweaking them to be more informative and meaningful.
“I desire to look myself in the mirror every day and know in my heart that I have done my job to the best of my ability, and for the improvement of the institution, that it may better achieve its goals. I have worked hard to improve processes and systems within my own area. This has often been a challenge due to cultural aspects or expectations, but has been mostly successful.” - Dianna Renz
Dianna is a wonderful asset to our team here at Western. She’s always helpful in assisting her colleagues, and going above and beyond her job scope. Make sure to congratulate her on her nomination. She deserves it.
