Mustang fans can now attend all regular-season athletics events for free at Western Wyoming Community College. The College’s Western Leadership Council recently made the decision to eliminate entry fees for home sporting events.
“Our goal is to make an evening of local college athletics as affordable as possible for families in our communities,” said Mustang Athletic Director Lu Sweet. “We love having our local folks in the stands to watch our teams play, and we hope that our fans and their families will take advantage of the opportunity to come out and enjoy a game for free.”
Admission to Region IX Tournament games hosted by Western may still require paid admission.
Traditionally, Western’s Labor Night – Free Night doubleheader of men’s and women’s basketball, sponsored by United Steelworkers Locals 13214 and 15320 in January or February of each year, was the only admission-free regular-season athletic contest, and it also included free food and beverages provided by the Locals. This season’s Labor Night doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25, and although admission is already free, the Steelworkers still will cover the food and beverages for all attendees.
