September 12, 2016

"Blue Like Me" will screen on Friday, Sept. 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Broadway Theater following a 6 p.m. reception.

As part of this month's programming related to "The Bridge," the traveling art exhibit on display at Western Wyoming Community College through Sept. 30, Western and the Broadway Theater have partnered to present the fascinating documentary "Blue Like Me: The Art and World of Siona Benjamin," which looks at the art, influences and career of Indian-born artist Siona Benjamin. A reception will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a free screening at 6:30 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 16.

Benjamin's acclaimed work blends modern and ancient styles with traditional and pop-culture images from around the planet, capturing the spirit both of her Jewish roots and of her native homeland of India. Benjamin, who now resides in the United States, will attend the screening and reception at the Broadway Theater on Friday.
