Mustang Volleyball at Western Wyoming Community College will host a summer camp at the Rock Springs campus beginning Monday, June 6, and concluding Thursday, June 9. The camp will be divided into three age categories: Mini-Mustangs, for students in kindergarten through second grade; Junior Mustangs, for students in third through sixth grade; and Future Mustangs, for students in seventh and eighth grade.
Camp cost is $50 for Mini Mustangs, $65 for Junior Mustangs, and $85 for Future Mustangs. Listed grade levels for each camp are only suggestions; students are invited to attend the camp level that best fits their skill level. All camp sessions will be held in Rushmore Gymnasium. Grade levels are determined according to which grade the student will enter in Fall 2016.
The Mini Mustang session, which focuses on teaching basic volleyball skills in a fun environment, will run from 10 – 11:30 a.m. each day; the Junior Mustang session, which is designed to combine game situations with basic skill development, will run from 1 – 3 p.m. each day; and the Future Mustang session, which provides instruction in all skills necessary for successful play in junior high and high school, will run from 3:30 – 6 p.m. each day.
Participants in the Mustang Volleyball Camp will learn volleyball in a way that helps campers grow as players while enjoying the game. Mustang Volleyball Camp is coached by Head Coach Justin Hoskins, who joined Western in January after coaching for two seasons at Brunswick Community College in North Carolina.
