Workforce Development at Western Wyoming Community College has partnered with Sweetwater BOCES to offer a one-day grant-writing course on Wednesday, March 16, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Room 1404 at the Rock Springs campus. The course will be taught by Misty Springer, who is the grant writer for the City of Green River.
Sweetwater BOCES has provided a grant for this class that will reduce the $110 course fee to just $50 for the first 10 registrants.
Springer wrote many successful grant applications during her five years working as artistic director of a large, non-governmental organization in South Africa, bringing millions of dollars into that organization. She has also worked as a consultant/grant writer for libraries and museums.
Springer’s one-day class at Western will provide participants with the tools and knowledge they need to write successful grant proposals and applications for their organizations. She will explain how the best grant writers use compelling stories to illustrate the value and importance of their grant requests while also using strong data to support their arguments.
