ROCK SPRINGS – Western Wyoming Community College extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of former instructor Joan Marie Barker, who passed away on May 24, 2015 after a long illness. Mrs. Barker taught at Western for five years following a 25-year teaching career with Sweetwater County School District #2. She retired in 2010.

"Joan was the classic faculty person who does what needs to be done to provide a quality education for her students with minimal fuss," said WWCC Vice President for Student Success Services Jackie Freeze. "She was a dedicated supporter of student learning and a lifelong learner herself.  She remained interested in Western's progress long after her retirement. We will miss her."
