Four credit course (NRST 1510) prepares a person to work as a nursing assistant. The course presents basic nursing assistant
principels and skills with an emphasis on care of the elderly client.
Students' time will be divided between classroom instruction, laboratory time and supervised clinical experience.
Satisfactory completion of the course entitles the student to take a competency exam to become certified in the state of
Clinical Requirements - Prerequisites: TB test, Tdap vaccination and MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine or proof of immunity
MUST be completed prior to the course. Students must be Health Care Provider CPR (American Heart Association) or Professional Rescuer
(American Red Cross) certified PRIOR to the course.
