Green River, Wyoming native Art Castillo begins his 9th season as the head coach of the Mustangs and 12th year overall. Castillo has coached two
National Champions, 29 All Americans including four two-time All Americans. In his time as a coach, Castillo was instrumental in leading the
Mustangs to two academic National Championships (2005-06, 2009-10). Castillo was voted the 2015 West District Coach of the Year. Coach Castillo is
a 1997 Graduate of Green River High School where he was a three-time state placer and as a team captain he led his team to three Wyoming 4A State
Upon graduation, Castillo attended Northwest College, where he was a National Qualifier. After his time at Northwest, Coach Castillo transferred to
Dana College, where he was also a team captain and two-time national qualifier and two-time GPAC champion. Castillo served as an assistant coach
while finishing his undergraduate degree at Dana. Castillo graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education/Sports Management and earned
his Master's degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine. In his free time Castillo likes to golf, travel, and
spend time with his wife, Jess.
Assistant Wrestling Coach
Rick Yoak, from Green River, Wyoming is back, this time as a Mustang! Coach Yoak was the head assistant under Coach Steve Christensen from 1999-2003, when they we were the Spartans. In
fact, Yoak coached former All American and current Assistant Coach Josh Nacey. The former 2X Wyoming state champion, and NJCAA national runner-up, brings a tremendous amount of
knowledge and character to the Mustang coaching staff and Coach Castillo is delighted to have Yoak around. "To have a guy like Rick Yoak want to be a part of your staff is huge for
everybody involved. Rick is not only one of the toughest guys I can think of but also one of the classiest. I remember as a kid watching Yoak wrestle for the powerhouse Wolves,
watching him compete helped build my love for the sport. I am honored to work with him and excited about the impact he will have with our student-athletes physically, emotionally and
spiritually." Coach Yoak resides in Green River and has been married to his wife Shelley for
22 years. They have two daughters, Megan, 16, and Madison, 12.
Assistant Wrestling Coach
From Cheyenne, Wyoming, Dillon Karajanis enters his first season as assistant coach for the Mustangs. Dillon returns to the Mustangs for the first time as a
professional. He earned All-American honors in 2013 here at Western under Coach Castillo and graduated with a degree of Associates of Arts with an emphasis in
Education. Dillon was a member of the 2013 team that placed 8th in the country. After his time at Western, Dillon transferred to CSU-Pueblo where he completed his
wrestling career and earned a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, with an emphasis in Physical Education K-12. Professionally, he is a physical education teacher
for Sweetwater County School District #1. In his free time, Dillon enjoys fishing whenever he gets a chance and just being outdoors.
"I am extremely excited to bring Dillon to our staff and back to the community," Coach Castillo said. "Dillon had an outstanding academic and athletic career and I
am certain as a professional he will continue pursuing excellence."
