Jeff Atkinson Jeff Atkinson
Head Men's Soccer Coach
Office: 1566
Phone: (307) 382-1878

Jeff Atkinson played club soccer while at Evanston High School and the University of Wyoming. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wyoming in Spanish Education. Jeff is a Spanish teacher at Rock Springs High School. Jeff was named the 2012 Region IX NJCAA Coach of the Year and holds several NSCAA and USSF certificates including goal keeper certificates.

Atkinson also coached the Rock Springs High School boy's soccer team for 9 seasons. While with the Tigers he helped lead them to 5 state tournaments. The Atkinson lead RSHS teams earned a 3rd, 4th and 6th place finish at the Wyoming State Cup during his tenure. He and his wife, Jennifer, have three sons-Timothy, Landon and Seth and a daughter - Sydney.

Coach Atkinson starts his thirteenth season as the head coach of Western's men's soccer team. Some highlights for Jeff during his tenure as head coach have been; during the 2005 season Western won the Wyoming State Club Championship. Western played their first intercollegiate season in 2006. WWCC played in the Region IX championship game in 2008. The 2009 season the Mustangs again finished Region IX in second place. The 2012 season was one for the record books as the Mustangs won their first Region IX Championship, hosted and finished second in the NJCAA West District Tournament and competed at the NJCAA National Tournament in Albany GA. The Mustangs won one match and lost one match at the 2012 National Tournament for an 8th place finish in the Nation. The Mustang have hosted a home playoff match in 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016, more than any other Region IX North team. In the 2016 season the Western Wyoming Men's Soccer team celebrated the program's 100th win and advanced to the Region IX Semi-finals.

The 2017 season should be another chance for the Mustangs to prove that they are one of the top NJCAA schools for men's soccer. This year's squad should be well balanced and a very tough team.
