  • A student who obtains an Associate’s degree in Psychology might work as a psychiatric nursing assistant or orderly, case technician, human service assistant, home care aide, or addiction rehabilitation assistant.
  • If one continues their education in the field of Psychology, one might work as a therapist or counselor, researcher, human resources specialist, educator, neuroscientist or forensic psychologist.

Psychologists Salary and Job Outlook – On Average Nationally

Although psychologists typically need a doctoral degree in psychology, a master’s degree is sufficient for some positions.  According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for psychologists was $79,010 in May 2018.  Employment of psychologists is projected to grow 14 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations.
