General Studies
The General Studies degree offers students the flexibility to explore a variety of academic disciplines while earning their associate degree. This broad approach allows students to discover their interests and make more informed decisions about their major before transferring to a four-year college or university.
The General Studies program is ideal for students who:
- Have not yet chosen a specific major
- Want to explore multiple career paths or academic interests
- Plan to pursue a degree or career not currently offered at Western and intend to transfer to a four-year university
- Wish to design a personalized program tailored to their unique goals and interests
- Have already earned significant college credit and want to complete their associate degree
Western offers both an Associate of Arts (A.A.) and an Associate of Science (A.S.) in General Studies. Both degrees can be completed on campus or fully online, providing maximum flexibility for students.
