  • Served 15 years as an officer or deputy in Missouri
  • I received my Masters of Science in Criminal Justice from Columbia College, Missouri
  • I was a PhD Candidate through Capella University
  • I received a "Reserve Officer Status" in Wyoming in 2017

Shane Terrill
Adjunct Faculty

Shane Terrill started his career development by joining the United States Marine Corps, where he served in the special operations community in the Far East, Middle East, and Africa. He then went on to work as an Intelligence Specialist as an East Asian Specialist for the Counterintelligence Directorate and as a member of the Special Contingency Group (SCG) for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). After leaving the intelligence community, Terrill spent the next 16 years in law-enforcement, where he served as Special Response Team (SRT) member and marksmen/observer, Major Crimes Investigator (MCI), Field Training Officer (FTO), and Special Investigations Unit (SIU) investigator.

Terrill is a certified A.L.I.C.E instructor, Step-Up trainer, Green Dot instructor, and Trevor CARE trainer and has taught for over 9 years in the Springfield Missouri Police Academy and the Missouri State University Public Safety Officer academy.

Terrill has Master of Science in Administrative Studies (MSAS) in Homeland Security, a graduate level Homeland Security certificate, and a Bachelor of Art (BA) in International Relations, specializing in Far East studies. He also attended the Defense Language Institute (DLI) and Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.



Gary Redente
Adjunct Faculty

Gary Redente is an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at Western Wyoming Community College and a Deputy County & Prosecuting Attorney with the Sweetwater County Attorney's Office, where he prosecutes violent felonies, including sexual assault and strangulation cases, and financial crimes. He is also a certified personal protection specialist with experience in conducting threat assessments and managing protective details for at-risk individuals; a certified firearms instructor; a member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI); a personal safety instructor; and a former martial arts instructor. Mr. Redente received a Juris Doctor degree from Boston University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Hunter College (CUNY) in New York. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
