Become a Resident Assistant!

Resident Assistants help supervise residents, develop a sense of community, and create fun events. RAs receive free housing and a scholarship while holding an RA position. Responsibilities include:
- Serve as a positive role model for all students.
- Participate in RA Training two weeks prior to each semester.
- Several different administrative duties.
- Community Development and Resident Support.
- Plan and execute housing events.
- Desk shifts on weekdays and weekends.
Fill out the Western Resident Assistant Application.
Qualified Individuals will be notified about interview dates and times after applications are reviewed by the hiring committee. Not all individuals may be selected for an interview.


Hello! I'm McKynleigh Barney, and I'm from Mountain View, Wyoming. I'm majoring in Social Science and am planning to go to UW after I graduate here. I love being a Resident Assistant because it provides me with leadership opportunities and helps me connect with others. I enjoy helping my team and my residents! Planning events is super fun, too! :)

My name is Luke Schroeder and I am one of the lead RAs at Western. I am from Cache Valley, Utah. This is my second year here and I absolutely love it! I am currently studying Business Management pursuing my Bachelor’s degree. I am a member of the school’s wrestling team and enjoy spending my time on the mat. Me and my wife, Emma, live here on campus with our dog (ESA), Pocket. We love being with the students and faculty here. I look forward to serving you this semester!

Hello, my name is Nicholas Vitanza! I am from Pinedale, Wyoming and I am studying computer science! In my free time I like to play video games and listen to music. I enjoy being a Resident Assistant because I love helping others and meeting new people!

My name is Emalee Behling. I'm from Fort Bridger Wyoming. I'm getting my degree in business management. The reason I love being an RA is I get to meet new people and get out of my bubble, but I also get to gain leadership experience!

My name is Andy Loveridge. I am from Lehi, Utah, and I am currently majoring in theatre. I love helping people, and the ability to aid someone through acts of service or kindness is something that means a lot to me. Becoming an RA has helped me meet all kinds of wonderful people that I would’ve never met, so I’m truly grateful for this opportunity. And I love my RA family.

Hi, my name is Hope! I am from Johannesburg, and I am currently in the Health Science program. A few things I enjoy about being an RA is that I get to bond with students and meet new people. I also enjoy planning fun events for students and myself.

I enjoy being a Residents Assistant because it gives me opportunities to connect with more people here. I have also learned a lot since I became an RA and there is always more to learn, and I love that.
