Parents - Housing
Welcome to the beginning of an exciting chapter as your student contemplates life at Western Wyoming Community College! We understand that choosing the right housing environment is a big step—not just for your student, but for you as their supporter and guide. Living on campus offers more than just a place to sleep—it’s an opportunity to build friendships, foster independence, and be part of a supportive community.
Here are a few highlights you’ll want to discuss with your student, and you can explore them further at the college’s Living on Campus page on the Western Wyoming website:
-
On-campus residence halls are right on campus, which means easy access to classes, student life, dining and other college amenities.
-
Average room cost is about $450 per month (semester charges billed up-front), and for many students housing costs may be covered in whole or in part by financial aid.
-
Living on campus is associated with high rates of student engagement and success—89% of students at Western say it was a key factor in their completion.
-
Students who live on campus benefit from being immediately connected: new friends, campus events, involvement opportunities and that “college experience” often sought by students.
As you review housing options with your student, here are a few questions you might want to talk about together:
-
What are the room‐style and community amenities offered in the residence halls?
-
How does the billing for housing work, and how might it tie in with the student’s financial aid or budget?
-
What kinds of support services, resident assistants, and programming does the college provide to help students transition to living on campus?
-
How will living on campus affect the student’s daily schedule, study habits, and social life?
We look forward to helping you and your student navigate the next steps in the transition to college life at Western Wyoming. Please don’t hesitate to explore the full details on the Living on Campus page and reach out if you have any questions.
