The Western Wyoming Community College Men’s Basketball teaming is coming off a solid year with a 18-14 record and a trip to the Region IX Tournament. Coach Soza begin his 6th year as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the Mustangs and has an overall record of 102-44. Through his five years he and his staff have placed eighteen student athletes at the four-year level and three at the professional level. Moving on from last years team are:

Hugo Ferreira—Bryant University (D1)

Franklin Agu—St Mary’s University (D2)

Zion Ruckard—St Thomas Aquinas (D2)

Chase Hettinger—Humboldt State (D2)

Also moving on is Assistant Coach Kameron Pearce.  Pearce has headed back to his alma matter, St Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas as an assistant coach. Kameron was an extremely vital piece to Western Wyoming recent success and will be missed.

The 2023-24 Mustangs return a solid core who have won 18 games the past year in Eddie McPhee, Jackson Keil, Chok Garang, Micah Pierce and Demetrius Davenport. The Mustangs have added two transfers, Kasen Boggs (Southern Nevada) and Christian Adun (Northwest Wyoming), who both should make an immediate impact. Also, joining the Mustangs are true freshmen David DeBoar (Rock Springs, WY), Trevon Chambers (Denver, CO), Amari Westmoreland-Vendiola (Kahuku, HI), Khayleb Tuaone (South Jordan, UT), Lovelle Marble (Denver, CO), Justus Jackson-Fobbs (Magna, UT), Gvidas Laurinaitis (Vilnius, Lithuania), and Predrag Savic (Serbia)

 

Also returning to Western Wyoming is All Conference and Region IX Champion, Trey Marble.  A recent graduate from University of Illinois Springfield will be joining Coach Soza’s staff along with recent student-athlete Justus Reese.
