M.S. San Diego State University. B.S. California State University, Fresno. Jim teaches accounting and finance at Western Wyoming Community College. Prior to relocating here, Jim taught entrepreneurship and accounting at the University of Idaho. He has 30- plus years of finance experience which includes corporate banking at Bank of America, registered investment portfolio manager and has led the funding efforts for two start-up companies. Jim is active in a variety of outdoor activities.
M.B.A. Western Governors University. B.S. Utah State University. Beth teaches management, marketing and business administration at Western Wyoming Community College. She is a native of Wyoming and prior to becoming a full time faculty member, Beth was an Assessment and Research Analyst for Western. She has 10 plus years of experience working in the finance industry as a branch manager, portfolio manager, credit underwriter, corporate trainer, and marketing program developer. She has three children and runs a small business with her husband.

Accounting/Business Transfer, Western Wyoming Community College. Steve teaches business law, business ethics, economics, international business, and practical accounting at Western Wyoming Community College. Prior to coming to Western, Steve was a partner with the law firm of Moscone, Emblidge & Otis in San Francisco, California. He specialized in business litigation, construction claims, construction defects, and ESOP cases. Steve’s past clients include the Sony Corporation of America, Jacobs Engineering, Performance Contracting Group, and The Menke Group. Steve has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1989. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, all district courts in California, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
M.B.A. Walden University. B.S. University of Wyoming. Kayla teaches Personal Leadership, QuickBooks, Computer Information Systems, and Information Management at Western. She has industry experience in Corporate Management, Medical Management, and Business Information Systems, prior to her career in higher education. Kayla enjoys outdoor activities including fishing and hunting, bowling, but most of all adventures with her family.
Adjunct Faculty
D.B.A. Capital University. M.B.A. Capital University. B.A. Capital University. Cynthia has been an active CPA in Ohio since 2006. She has been an adjunct faculty member for 12 years. She teaches various finance and accounting courses including: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Financial Accounting Theory and Accounting Systems. She is currently the Corporate Controller for Woda Cooper Companies, Inc. located in Columbus, Ohio, where the organization has created over 12,000 housing units in rural, suburban and urban settings across 15 states. Woda Management and Real Estate LLC manages and maintains over 300 properties. Woda Cooper Companies, Inc. continuously researches and evaluates new markets to help ensure the availability of newly constructed, or renovated, affordable housing units for families and seniors. Additionally she has more than 17 years in progressive accounting roles for Energy Industry companies, with a focus on compliance including Sarbanes Oxley and Financial Reporting/SEC, 5 additional years of prior experience in accounting roles in retail, legal, and manufacturing industries.
M.P.A. University of Wyoming. B.A. University of Wyoming. MaryAnn obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Wyoming. After moving to Green River, Wyoming, in 1980, she started work at Western Wyoming Community College as part-time coordinator of the college program in Green River which operated out of a small office on Flaming Gorge Way. All the classes were held at the Green River High School. In 1986, she became the Director of the Green River Center and remained in that position until she retired in December 2007. She started teaching various classes on-line when the college introduced its on-line learning program. In addition to teaching on-line, she has taught workshops and seminars to local businesses and industry as part of the Workforce Development program. She now lives in the Pacific Northwest.
M.B.A., University of Wyoming; B.A. Communications, University of Wyoming. Chloe teaches Marketing, Introduction to Business and Entrepreneurship at Western. She has industry experience in Public Relations, Donor Engagement and Sales, in a variety of both for-profit and nonprofit sectors, prior to her career in higher education. Chloe enjoys attending as many Wyoming Cowboy athletic events as possible and enjoys all of the outdoor adventures Wyoming has to offer with her partner and their three children.
Ph.D. Capella University. M.A. Ashford University. M.B.A. University of Cincinnati. M.S. The University of the Cumberlands. B.A. Kenyon College. Dr. Courts has been teaching online for 20 years now. The courses he has taught include Economics, Management, Organizational Behavior, Research Methodology, and Statistics. He has been fortunate to have been asked to guest lecturer at numerous international universities including Vietnam, Romania, China, Argentina, Mexico, and Spain. His professional background includes some time in the insurance industry and a position as a project manager for a major ERP software implementation. He also owns a small self-storage business just outside of Cincinnati.

Ms. Kauppi is currently the Sweetwater County Program Director and Business Liaison for Climb Wyoming, whose mission is for low-income single mothers to discover self-sufficiency through career training and placement. Previously, Kristy worked at Western Wyoming Community College as the Human Resources Generalist. She also has over 10 years of experience in the mining/oil and gas industry as payroll manager and safety compliance. In her spare time, Kristy runs a small business with her husband and is an active Wyoming Real Estate Agent.
M.S. and B.S. Washington State University. David has worked in the banking industry for 30 years. The majority of that time as a Commercial Loan Officer for small community banks and credit unions, but also as a Credit Analyst for FHLB of Seattle (a bank for banks). Recently, he has begun working in the construction industry as a project manager and is enjoying the change after many years in the banking industry.
