Empowering Tomorrow's Tech Talent: FlexTech's Dynamic Pathway from Classroom to Career
FlexTech: Transforming IT support and Cybersecurity credential attainment through HyFlex (hyper-flexible) educational offerings and industry partnerships. In 2024 we were awarded a National Science Foundation, Advanced Technology Education grant. This grant focuses on our Help Desk / IT Support Specialist and Cybersecurity programs. We are working directly with industry to ensure our curriculum meets the needs of local employers. Partnerships with industry have been created to not only align curriculum but also provide internships. We are working to move classes into an environment where students can attend in-person, via web meeting (Zoom), or completely online to fit their schedule. Ther retention from fall 2024 to spring 2025 was 97%
Recruitment impact
15 events were hosted as part of the recuritment and outreach efforts during year 1. This reached 271 participants and 10 new students enrolled for Spring 2025.
HyFlex
- 4 courses within the Information Systems and Cybersecurity department are utilizing the HyFlex environment
- 90% positive feedback rate regarding the modality
- 94% of students would recommend this class modality to other students
