Information Systems FAQs

The Information Systems (formerly known as the BIS - Business Information Systems) Lab is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The computer lab is open each semester including summer. Summer hours may vary.

Yes! The IS Computer Lab is staffed with friendly and helpful assistants who can help you with your software questions. Many students come to the lab for  help with Microsoft Office and Adobe applications. If we cannot answer your question, we will find someone who can!

Yes! Printing for your coursework is free. There is a color printer available also for those special projects where color makes your work pop! We do ask that you keep your printing to a minimum and conserve paper when possible. Please help us by printing only what you need.

 Microsoft Office Professional 2021 is installed! This suite contains: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Visio.
 The latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud is installed on select machines. You can also find QuickBooks, Solid Works, Eclipse, Visual Studio, and more. If you have a need for software that is not available, ask! We can sometimes install software that students request!
 Yes! Several scanners are available. If you need to scan a photo or a document – we have a couple of options for you.
 All Western students, as well as the community, can utilize the lab. There is space to set up your laptop if you bring your own.
 Study areas and a “Think Tank” are available for students to use. A large screen is in the area so it is easy to work together. Check out the space!
