Wesley Padilla is ready to start year two at the helm of the Western Wyoming Women’s Basketball Program and is excited to have a big year. Padilla looks to build off a successful first year season after falling short in the Region Championship game by one possession. The Lady Mustangs earned many accolades on and off the court including, 3 Academic All-Americans, a NJCAA Academic Team Award, 4 All Tournament Selections, 1 All Defensive Team, 1 JUCO Top 40 Selection, as well as 5 graduated sophomores.

The Lady Mustangs return 4 of their starters from last years team and have added a very talented freshmen class. “We hope to continue to build on the foundation we set last year. The incoming freshmen  are extremely talented and will be vital to our success.  We hope to play fast, hit outsides shots, and get up and guard 40+ minutes at a high level,” said Padilla.

Incoming freshman include Anja Ekstrom (Spanga, Sweden) Andee VanDyke (Cainville, UT), Sierra Eddie (West Haven, UT),  Korina Bjordnstedt (Stockholm, Sweden), Taylor Billman (Soda Springs, ID), Kyara Tinajero (Ogden, UT), Nyah Vermeulen (Abbotsford, BC), Boe Gregory (Manager, Lyman, WY) and Passion Bowen (Manger, - Farr West, UT).

Key Returners include Kayde Strauss (Green River, WY), Emma Patik (Casper, WY), Kayla Thornton (Maui, HI), Tamryn Blom (Casper, WY), Leianna Thornton (Maui, HI), and Jana Baker (Evansville, WY).

Also returning to the sidelines is Graduate Assistant, Elijah Archuleta and new Graduate Assistant Jana Baker.

We would like to congratulate Hannah Harris on her commitment to Briar Cliff University (NAIA) for the 2023-24 season.
