Annual Senior Care Innovation Scholarship - A Place for Mom

A Place for Mom offers a scholarship for current students that intend to use their education to help the senior population. This $1000 scholarship is for students currently enrolled in college courses that are pursuing an associate's degree, a bachelor's degree or graduate level program in a medical, nursing or social sciences related major. Applicants must complete a letter of introduction, a 500-900 word essay on one of five given topics, and sign the Scholarship Award Agreement to apply. A scholarship is awarded to the winners of each essay topic as decided by a panel of judges. Bigler Memorial Scholarship Program

Terry A. Bigler earned his Associates Degree in Maintenance from Western Wyoming Community College in 1977. His studies at WWCC gave him an opportunity to work as a co-op student at the Big Island Mine & Refinery. Upon graduation, he was hired as a full-time Mine Mechanic. Terry had a true passion for mechanical work, which was evident from his 28 1/2 years in Maintenance as well as his hobby of building hot rods. He made many contributions during his years of service with the Big Island Mine & Refinery and achieved 28 consecutive safe years. On April 4, 2005 a sudden, tragic mining accident claimed his life. He will forever be in the hearts of his family, friends, and co-workers. It is with heartfelt respect that we remember him for his loyalty, sense of humor, mechanical abilities, professionalism and compassion for friends and family. BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. All athletes are eligible for this $500 scholarship regardless of which sport they participate in. The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post-secondary institution. To apply, interested applicants need to send a 500-1000 word essay answering the question: How did your participation in sports during your high school years influence you? Cloud Peak Law Group's Annual Scholarship

Cloud Peak Law Group is offering one scholarship for $1,000 and a runner-up for $500. A 350-word essay is required; the topic is on whether your collegiate experience has shaped your views regarding national unity. Defensive Driving Scholarship is offering a scholarship for $1,500 for high school senior or current college students who are legal residents of the United States. To receive this $1,500 scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in college courses by Spring 2017. Students must submit a short video and an application to be considered. Friends of the Fremont County Fair FFA/4-H Scholarship

Friends of the Fremont County Fair offers a $500 scholarship for college students that are sophomore or above for the 2018/2019 school year. The interested student must be from Fremont County and have been active in FFA or 4-H. The deadline for this application is March 31, 2018. Global Lift Equipment Scholarship

Global Lift Equipment is awarding one student with a $500 scholarship. To be considered for this scholarship the applicant must be currently attending, or planning on attending, a post-secondary institution in Canada or the U.S. in the fall of 2018 and have a GPA of 2.5 or greater. To apply for this scholarship applicants must write a short story from the perspective of an inanimate object that can be found on the Global Lift Equipment website. Grainger Tools for Tomorrow

The Grainger Tools for Tomorrow Scholarship Program helps students across the country, who are interested in careers in the skilled trades and public safety, realize their educational goals. Outstanding students are recognized with a $2000 scholarship award and a Westward toolkit upon graduation. Hawthorn Foundation

The Hawthorn Foundation provides a scholarship intended to enable highly motivated individuals to improve their life circumstances through education and training. Applicants must reside in Wyoming and may be: traditional students, GED graduates, nontraditional adults, individuals who did not finish high school and have not obtained a GED but would like to obtain a GED and pursue an education, low-income adults who are returning to school or starting a higher education for the first time, first generation students, or returning military. Horatio Alger Association

Horatio Alger Association was established in 1947 and began awarding scholarships in 1984. Since the first scholarship award the Association has awarded over $125 million in need-based aid to students who hope to pursue their American Dream. To be eligible for the Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship, applicants must complete high school, be younger than 30 years old, exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career of technical program at an accredited, non-profit community college in the United States, demonstrate critical financial need, be involved in co-curricular and community service activities, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and have United States citizenship. Kappa Kappa Iota - Tau State, Wyoming

Kappa Kappa Iota - Tau State, Wyoming is a non-profit organization whose membership is comprised of active and retired educators. Each year, the group offers a $500 scholarship to a sophomore, junior, or senior student who is majoring in Education. Mary Kay Anderson Scholarship

The Mary Kay Anderson Scholarship is a one-year award of $800.00, awarded $400.00 each semester (as long as the requirements are met). To qualify the recipient must be a female resident of Sweetwater County for at least three years, demonstrate financial need determined by the information on FAFSA, be enrolled full-time or part-time, have a WWCC GPA of 2.5 or higher as confirmed by an unofficial transcript. No GPA necessary for women who are 30 or older and starting their first semester of college. To renew the scholarship for second semester a 2.5 GPA must be maintained. Mission Creek Orthodontics (MCO) Scholarship

Mission Creek Orthodontics is awarding one student with a $500 scholarship. To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must be a high school senior or attending college as a freshman, sophomore or junior. Students who apply for this scholarship must be attending college on a full-time basis (12 credit hours) by December 2018. P.E.O. Chapter AY Scholarship

The P.E.O. Chapter AY offers a scholarship available to non-traditional female residents of Green River, WY, who are a high school graduate or hold an equivalency diploma. Recipient must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours per semester. An award of $250.00 (if part time) or $500.00 (if full time) will be awarded at the end of the semester after verification of a 2.5 GPA or higher. Copies of semester grades required for consideration of future financial scholarship aid. Student must complete application, include letter of intent detailing educational plans, two letters of recommendation, and three personal references. P.E.O. Educational Grants, Loans and Scholarships

P.E.O. strives to make a difference in women's lives by providing assistance for those seeking higher education. P.E.O. offers a one time, $3000 grant as part of their Program for Continuing Education (PCE). The PCE was established in 1973 to provide need-based grants to women in the U.S. and Canada whose education has been interrupted for at least 24 months and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families. P.E.O. also offers an educational loan of up to $12,000 for undergrads and $20,000 for doctorate level students. This loan only has a 2% interest rate. The Public Engagement Competition offers one full-tuition and one partial-tuition scholarship for adult and transfer students who wish to enroll at The New School. Rock Springs Rotary Club Second Year Nursing Student Scholarship

This scholarship is for any second year nursing student who is a Sweetwater County resident or second year nursing student desiring to reside in Sweetwater County. Student must be enrolled in his/her second year at WWCC, with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Preference will be given to a non-traditional student. Scholarship recipients will be required to assist Rotary for flag duty once during the semester, be available in the month of March for pictures with the Rock Springs Rotary Club and Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, and attend a luncheon after graduation to share their plans for the future. Two $2,000 scholarships will be offered Spring 2018 with an application deadline of February 23, 2018. Funds will need to be repaid if program is not completed. The Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME) Scholarship

The Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME) offers four $2,500 scholarships for this academic year. The student must have graduated from a Wyoming high school and must be enrolled full-time for the 2017-2018 academic year. In addition, the student must pursue a discipline related to mining/mineral extraction and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. The deadline for this application is November 30th, 2018. T Scholarship believes that teachers have the power to inspire our future. With that in mind, is offering a $2,500 scholarship to help students financially to obtain a teaching degree. University of Wyoming Alumni Association Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who are currently attending a Wyoming Community College and intend to transfer to University of Wyoming (Laramie Campus). Funding varies based on the scholarship awarded and is paid over eight consecutive semesters as long as a 2.5 GPA is maintained upon receipt. All scholarship materials must be postmarked or received by 5:00 pm, December 6th, 2018. Unknown Saints Veterans Scholarship Fund

Started on February 29, 2016, the Unknown Saints is a Veterans Support Riding Club based in Rock Springs, WY. It is dedicated to supporting veterans, specifically in Sweetwater County and Wyoming, and they have chosen to assist with this scholarship program. Applicants may be any student of Western that is a United States Military Veteran, the spouse/child(ren) of members killed in action, or is currently serving on Active Duty, Reserves, or Guard. VeteranAid Veterans Benefits Scholarship

Three $2,000 scholarships are available to students enrolled in an associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or graduate level program at an accredited 2-year college or 4-year university. Each eligible student will submit a 500-750 word essay on the following essay topic: "Give an example of one veterans benefit and explain how it helps senior veterans. Then propose your own benefit to help senior veterans." The deadline is December 31, 2017. Scholarship award recipients will be announced January 31, 2018. Wyoming Young Contractors Association (WYCA)

Wyoming Young Contractors Association (WYCA) is offering a scholarship program to assist individuals in their pursuit of further education and training for career advancement in the construction industry. Eligibility: Applicant must be a United States Citizen; Applicant must have Wyoming State residency (1 year minimum); Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited, Wyoming based University/College, Career/Technical School, or enrolled in a skilled trades training program approved by the scholarship committee; Applicant must be enrolled in a course of study that is directly related to the Construction Industry and/or is approved by the scholarship committee; Applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 45 at the time of submittal. Wyoming Chapter of ARMA - The Information Management Professionals

Wyoming Chapter of ARMA offers a scholarship to any senior in a Wyoming High School or a current Wyoming College student with a GPA of 2.5 or higher pursuing a career in business, records and/or information management. If currently attending a Wyoming College full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours), send a transcript copy that shows successful completion of at least one 3 credit hour course in business, records and/or information management. If you are currently enrolled in a business, records and/or information management course, provide a statement from the college instructor indicating successful completion to that point in the semester. If you are a high school senior, include a copy of your High School transcript showing a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Applications may be picked up and submitted to the Financial Aid office. Wyoming Chapter SWCS Scholarship

The Wyoming Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) wishes to announce that it will grant a $750 scholarship during the spring semester of the 2018 school year. The recipient of this scholarship will be a deserving student preparing for a career in natural resource conservation or a related field at an accredited college, university, or vocational school in Wyoming. In order to be eligible applicants must have successfully completed at least one year of college in Wyoming and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Students must also be enrolled in an agricultural or natural resource conservation related curriculum and show reasonable need for financial assistance. Previous winners of this scholarship are ineligible. Wyoming Community College STEM Scholarship

From the Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium, these scholarships, in amounts up to $1,000, are open to all full-time, continuing students at Wyoming Community Colleges. To qualify, applicants must be a U.S. citizen and pursuing a major a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) field. Use this application to apply and learn about additional requirements.

Wyoming Scottish Rite Foundation Scholarship

The Wyoming Scottish Rite Foundation Scholarship is for graduates of Wyoming high schools or holders of a Wyoming GED enrolling in college. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time during the year the scholarship is used. Completion of a full course load with a minimum 2.0 GPA is required for renewal. Interested applicants need to complete the application, have two letters of reference, and a color photo of applicant. Applications may be downloaded or picked up in the Financial Aid office. Wyoming Trucking Association Scholarship

Wyoming Trucking Association, Inc. offers its Transportation Education Scholarships ranging from $500.00 to $1,500.00 to a Wyoming high school graduate, who is enrolled in a Wyoming college, the university or trade school for the 2018-2019 school year. The student must be enrolled in courses, which could lead to a career in the transportation industry in Wyoming. The courses of study include but are not limited to: business management, accounting, diesel mechanics, truck driving training, office procedures & management, computer skills and safety. Completed applications should be submitted to the WTA Scholarship Trust Fund, P.O. Box 1175, Casper, WY 82602 no later than February 26, 2018. A determination of the recipients will be made by April 2018 and funds will be distributed in August 2018.
