While I initially hadn’t planned on staying at Western more than a year, my English professor, Heather Pristash, not only encouraged me to get my degree at Western but to follow my dream of studying writing. I graduated with an Associate in English and a certificate in creative writing, and while I did go on to study at a four-year school, some of the best classes I ever took were at Western. I recently became the editor of the Green River Star newspaper, and now every day I’m using the love of writing I developed and the skills I learned while studying at Western to help me tell peoples’ stories, which is what I’ve always wanted.-— Hannah Romero, English Graduate, The Green River Star Editor
