Jonathan McCormick

Dr. Jonathan McCormick is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and the facilitator of the Psychology program at Western Wyoming College. Prior to joining Western, he spent four years teaching Psychology at Voorhees University, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in South Carolina. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from Messiah University, as well as an M.S. and Ph.D. in General Teaching Psychology from Walden University. His academic focus areas include Cognitive Psychology (with an emphasis on teaching and learning), Social Psychology, and the Psychology of Human Sexuality—though he also has a background in, and finds enjoyment in, many other areas of Psychology, including Clinical Psychology, Personality, and Biopsychology. Dr. McCormick is passionate about student engagement and strives to create a classroom environment where students not only enjoy learning but also find personal meaning in connecting psychological concepts to their own lives. Outside the classroom, he enjoys camping, playing video games, and reading fantasy novels.
