Internships and Clubs

Internships

Internships are an excellent way for college students to gain hands-on experience, strengthen their resumes, and explore potential career paths. At Western, our strong partnerships with industry leaders enable us to offer flexible, for-credit internship opportunities. These include weekend, summer, and extended placements to fit a variety of schedules and career goals.

In the past, Western students have completed internships with organizations such as Idaho National Labs, JFC, Union Wireless, and Western Geological, to name just a few. To learn more about internship opportunities as an engineering student, speak with your professor or program advisor.

Engineering Science Club (ESC)

This club gives students the opportunity to develop their skills as scientists and engineers by working collaboratively on the planning, design, and construction of engineering projects. Typically, students organize and plan a project during the fall semester, and then build, test, and finalize it in the spring. Past projects have included a mechanical pterodactyl sculpture, a T-shirt gun, and an off-road wheelchair. Students are encouraged to join this hands-on and inventive club to explore their creativity and engineering skills.
