Testimonials

The projects and time spent on the material reinforce what might be lost in a larger classroom setting. I personally might not have been able to get through some of the material if it hadn’t been for the one-on-one approach the professors in the department strive to give students. The program is great for both traditional and non-traditional students as professors are understanding of obligations outside of the classroom. The level of commitment required for engineering is high however the professors at Western Wyoming Community College will help students pursue their dreams and learn the material they will need to be successful at other institutions as well as in the real world. This program is a great starting point for those wishing to be successful in all disciplines of engineering.-— Cody Lewman – Western Wyoming Community College Alumni 2018 - Montana Tech Mining Engineering 2020
My name is Tiffany Diaz, I am currently a junior in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Wyoming, studying Mechanical Engineering. I transferred to UW from Western Wyoming Community College right after graduating with my Associates of Science. When I first started attending classes in the engineering/physics department I wasn’t really sure I would stick with it but the professors, Stephen Schutten and Sandy Brown were so welcoming and so helpful not only as professors but as advisors. It was a privilege to be taught the basics of everything I am implementing now by them. My experience as an engineering science student at Western helped me become a better student that asks questions in the classroom and tries their hardest to understand complicated con The engineering program at Western was a great prep program for transferring into a 4-year institution as a junior in the engineering curriculum. The small class sizes, enthusiastic professors, and small community attitude help tackle some of the tougher courses. The best part about starting my engineering education at Western is how small the classes were, I was able to ask questions and get all the help I needed when I needed it at the start of my career. The engineering/physics department helped me decide which specific engineering discipline I wanted to go into through the projects and assignments we were given in the engineering orientation class. I was able to spend time researching different types of engineers and what they do and decide which was best for me.-— Tiffany Diaz – Western Wyoming Community College Alumni 2018 – University of Wyoming, Mechanical Engineering 2020
