I grew up on a cattle ranch in Lander, Wyoming, and have called this great state home my entire life. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management from the University of Wyoming, followed by a certificate in Diesel Technology from Gillette College. After completing my education, I spent six years working as a mechanic for Wyoming Machinery Company. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the power, complexity, and importance of diesel engines and heavy equipment. I’ve always been passionate about diesel technology—what these machines are capable of truly amazes me. Teaching gives me the chance to share that passion every day. I get to talk about something I love and help students develop the same enthusiasm and skills that have shaped my career. I believe students learn best when they’re excited about the subject, and I work hard to bring that excitement into every lesson. While I value a well-rounded higher education, I also recognize that students are more likely to succeed in general education courses when their core program fuels their motivation. Because of my own experiences, I’m able to connect with students on a personal level and meet them where they are—whether they're just discovering their interests or already know their path. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hunting, fishing, traveling, and exploring new places—especially right here in Wyoming.
