Hello! My name is Tara Countryman. I'm a student ambassador at Western Wyoming College, and I originally came to Western to get my General Studies degree with a focus in Psychology and Communications. As I am graduating in December, but I have made some awesome memories at Western. This begins with housing.

I have enjoyed making many friends through the time I lived in the dorms. One of the best memories I have is making friends with my best friend in college. It was my freshman year of college, and I had a roommate in Snowy Range Hall. I was unsure if I would be friends with my roommate but instead, we became best friends. We would eat together, go to the grocery store together, and do just about everything you can think of together. The first conversation was a little hard, but we got closer throughout the year and eventually she became my best friend for life! The best story was that she graduated and went on a mission as a missionary and we still talk back and forth today!

Then the fire alarms went off, and I seemed to make friends with my neighbors, and this was almost the whole hallway. I made friends with two other friends that this year I do hangout with.  Living on campus can create so many memories if a student decides to live in the dorms. This is how I met a lot of awesome friends and people. Some memories I made were just being able to sit, make food, and just hangout without the burden of being in high school anymore.

When my roommate was gone, and I would find things to do alone in the dorm, such as taking a nap, doing homework, cleaning my room, doing nails, decorating my dorm and watching movies endlessly. Since Rocky Mountain Hall has the commons room, I would also go and hang out there and play the piano a little bit.

One of the best things when living on campus was that I made many friends from scripture study in Wind River Hall.I am not LSD, but I am a Baptist Christian so I never read the Book of Mormon, but I would go to a friend's dorm every Sunday night to make friends and hangout. I am now in Wind River Hall instead of Snowy Range Hall, and it is so nice to have a kitchen when I do not want to go to Mitchell's, and to have my own space as I am moving on to the next chapter in my life.

I am closing out and saying goodbye to Western Wyoming College with all the memories I have made in the dorms. The best memories I made in the dorms were hanging out with my roommate last year. I am opening a new chapter getting my bachelor's degree at Southwest Baptist University and working part time at Maurices in Bolivar Missouri.
