Workforce Development at Western Wyoming Community College will host an informational meeting on Wednesday, March 1, at 8 a.m. at the Green River Center for contractors and industry partners who wish to learn more about the recent change concerning completion of any and all New Miner Training Certificates. Kathy Cattles, training specialist with MSHA Educational Field Services, will be present to discuss the changes and answer questions.

In the past, Western’s MSHA instructors signed completed 5000-23 forms for contractors only. Under new MSHA requirements, everyone going through New Miner training, including contractors, will receive an incomplete 5000-23, and an MSHA-approved instructor will complete the 5000-23 at a mine site.

All contractors and industry partners in Southwest Wyoming are encouraged to send a representative to this important informational session. For more information, contact Workforce Development at 307-872-1326.
