ROCK SPRINGS – Questar Gas Company has donated a medium-duty utility truck to Western Wyoming Community College to help students who enroll in the College’s Oil and Gas Technology courses and defensive driving program.
“We’re pleased to make the donation,” said Tim Sheehan, Questar Gas operations supervisor and adjunct Western instructor. “Companies like ours need qualified employees who are well educated and trained. That’s one of the reasons we support Western Wyoming Community College – it’s an investment in our community’s future workforce.”
Questar’s support in donating the truck will provide Western’s workforce development department with a type of vehicle that some students may never have driven before. These kinds of donations help to enhance the learning experience for students who are focused on jobs that use these trucks and require more technical driving skills.
“The quality of the education we provide to our students is paramount,” said Associate Professor of Oil and Gas Technology Paul Johnson, chair of Western’s Technology & Industry Division. “We appreciate Questar’s donation and the services they provide to our students and the campus. Our community business partners truly enhance the learning experience for our students and help prepare them for promising careers.”
