International students to share food, culture at International Night on April 15

April 09, 2015

Students from Japan,
Students from Japan, Mexico, Vietnam, and elsewhere will present International Night festivities April 15.

ROCK SPRINGS — The International Student Club at Western Wyoming Community College will host its annual International Night on Wednesday, April 15, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the WWCC Atrium. This fun and flavorful event is free and open to the community.

Western is pleased to host international students from across the globe at its Rock Springs campus, and those students are eager to share their food, music and native apparel during this highly anticipated spring event. Participants will have the opportunity to sample dishes from Vietnam, Japan, China, Mexico, Africa, and elsewhere.

During and following the culinary portion of the event, students will stage a talent show in which they will perform music, dance, sing, and model apparel from their native nations.

Western Wyoming Community College is proud of its international heritage and global character, which is reflective of Rock Springs’ own history as Wyoming’s “Home of 56 Nationalities.” International Night is an opportunity for the campus and surrounding community to celebrate that heritage and learn about the many vibrant cultures that are represented among Western’s student body.

Western is pleased to invite the community to campus for this wonderful student-led event, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, in the WWCC Atrium. While admission to the event is free, donations in support of the International Club are accepted and appreciated.
